BIG NOTES DENOMINATISATION DAMAGED THE TRADERS

SHUT SHOPS INDEFINITELY IN KERALA

Over 10 lakh traders working under the Kerala Vyapara Vyavasaya Ekopana Samithi (KVVES) organisation across 14 districts of the state will shut their shops indefinitely from Tuesday as they are facing currency shortage following the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
Shops and establishments including restaurants fall under the KVVES. The shops have not been able to function normally ever since the Government announced on November 8 that 500 and 1000 rupee notes will not be legal tender.
NO POINT IN KEEPING SHOPS OPEN:
"There is no point in keeping the shops open in such a scenario. We cannot take old currency notes and we do not have enough change to give customers in exchange for their new 2000 rupee notes. Until the situation returns to normal, we will keep the shops shut," said Peringamala Ramachandran, vice-president of the samithi.
Demonetisation of 500, 1000 rupee notes: 5 rumours you must not fall forAccording to the samithi, there are around 10.5 lakhs traders in the state under the samithi.
